I'm moving along on my Made for China commitments. Here are the Linus blankets, with all their imperfections. I have never made a blanket with binding before and my method leaves a lot of room for improvement. I'm kind of embarrassed by how many sewing mishaps I encountered on what should have been an easy project. But I learned a little about applique (go slowly) and have resolved to do some reading and research about the proper way to bind a blanket. I didn't have any fleece or chenille on hand and wanted to use something soft and cuddly so I was happy to stumble upon a six dollar fleece blanket at a Walgreens on Atlantic Avenue. That's a good reminder that fabric is everywhere - not just the fabric store.
